FocusFork is a local Electron desktop workspace for public GitHub issue discovery, native Git operations, and user-configured AI assistance.
Most contribution workflows scatter across GitHub, your editor, AI chat tabs, and terminal windows. FocusFork keeps the path in one place: discover issues, evaluate fit with AI, fork and clone with approval, edit in the built-in editor or your own IDE, then commit, push, and open a pull request.
Guided fork, clone, edit, commit, push, and pull request actions include approval controls. Discover, Code Guide, Ship, and Code Review share issue and workspace context. Git runs locally through simple-git; contextual prompts are sent to the AI provider you configure. Terminal commands remain under your control.
We are focused on helping first-time and returning contributors ship real PRs. The desktop app is free and open source and uses your own AI key by default. Provider fees and rate limits apply. Paid managed plans are not open in the current beta, and maintainers decide whether to merge your contribution.
